I’m Dibs McCallum, a commercial photographer since 2011 with a Master’s degree in Photography, and I’ve been running relaxed, practical workshops since 2013. Whether you join an evening walk, a private day or a residential trip, groups stay small so there is time for hands-on help with your camera, composition and technique.

Find the right photography workshop

You can start locally with an affordable Norwich photo walk or a one-day landscape workshop on the Norfolk and Suffolk coast. If you want tuition built around your own camera and goals, choose a private one-to-one. For more time on location, the residential photography trips combine small groups, practical tuition and carefully planned landscapes across England, Scotland and Wales.

The next local dates focus on night photography, long exposures, the Norfolk coast and the Broads. These are the easiest way to try a workshop before committing to a longer trip.

Residential photography trips for 2027

These small-group trips are designed for photographers who want more than a quick stop at each location. There is time to return when the light changes, work through technique properly and get individual help without feeling rushed.

Why the residential workshops are changing

For years I fitted most trips into a Friday-to-Monday window around a full-time job. The feedback I heard repeatedly was that guests wanted longer workshops and more time to explore the places we travelled to.

From 2027, most new residential workshops will run during the week, usually Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends where they make sense. The longer format gives us more flexibility around weather and light, more time for tuition, and less pressure to squeeze every location into a short weekend. It also helps me build the full-time workshop business I have wanted to run for many years.

Selected new residential trips include planned meals as well as accommodation and workshop transport. Every product page explains exactly what is included before you book.

Practical, friendly tuition—not a camera-club competition

All experience levels are welcome. I’ll help with camera settings, composition, filters, long exposures and working in changing light, but the aim is not to make everybody produce the same photograph. You will have room to develop your own way of seeing the landscape.
