Fitness Level: Hard. Very muddy walking across the marshes out to the boats, wellies are recommended, as your feet can sink up to your ankles.

Morston Quay and marshes are a classic slice of north Norfolk — tidal creeks winding through the salt marsh, little boats moored in the channels, and the open expanse of the coast beyond. It's a gorgeous spot for an evening shoot, full of natural leading lines and foreground interest, with the kind of huge skies that make this coastline so special. We'll work the creeks and boats as the light goes golden and the tide does its thing. A relaxed, friendly walk suitable for all levels — I'll be alongside you helping however you need.

This is the workshop where the sea defences, groynes and breakwaters of the Norfolk coast become something magical. Long exposure photography smooths the water to silk and stretches the clouds into drama, and on this full day I'll show you exactly how it's done — from filter choices and exposure calculations to composition and timing. As a Kase Filters ambassador I'll have a full set of filters available for you to try. Perfect if you've always wanted to crack long exposure work but weren't sure where to start. Small group, all levels, lots of hands-on guidance..

Hunstanton's red and white striped cliffs are unique in Norfolk, and as the only properly west-facing stretch of this coast, they're made for sunset photography. We'll work the dramatic layers and textures of the cliffs, the rock pools and sea-carved foregrounds at their base, and the colour in the western sky as the sun drops over The Wash. There's real variety here for compositions, and the light can be spectacular. A relaxed evening session suitable for all levels, with plenty of help on hand.

Date: Friday 11th September 2026. 5:30 pm to around 9 pm

Fitness Level: Moderate. Around 2km walk over shingle to the wader point at the Jetty

Photography Opportunities:

This is one of the most extraordinary natural events in Britain, and the timing on this evening is perfect. As a very high spring tide pushes in across The Wash, tens of thousands of knot, oystercatchers and dunlin are forced off the mudflats and take to the air at once — a swirling, shape-shifting spectacle that's been likened to a starling murmuration on a vast scale. We'll photograph the whirling flocks as the tide drives them in, then turn to the lagoons and sky for golden-hour landscapes as the sun sets. A genuinely rare combination of wildlife and landscape photography in one magical evening. Some prior camera knowledge is useful as we'll be working with fast movement and changing light.

IMPORTANT Please park at Snettisham Beach car park, not the RSPB reserve car park (which requires pre-booking on spectacular dates). Details sent on booking.
